So you’ve reached that point where you know what you want to change.
Maybe it’s a big something.
Maybe it’s a lot of change.
Maybe you feel overwhelmed, not sure where to start, or are waiting for the perfect time.
Waiting for things to settle down so that you can take it on.

You spend so much time & energy in your mind thinking about this change that you want to make... without taking action.
You already have so much on your plate.
You feel discouraged by ‘shoulding’ on yourself about not making moves forward.

Any of this feel familiar? If so, know that you are not alone.

We all reach points in our life where we just know that it’s time to evolve. It’s time to make some big changes.
Whether it’s around your health, your career, your relationships, or anything else in life.

Please know...
You do not need to take it all on at once to create the change that you are craving. This attitude is what can leave you feeling overwhelmed. And the overwhelm is often what leaves us feeling stuck.

While it’s totally possible to make big changes all at once, why would you want to create more overwhelm for yourself?

You deserve to enjoy your journey, too.

When we change too much at once, the odds of those changes being sustainable are much lower than if you take your time and create gradual change in your life towards what you really want.

Some examples:

You decide you need to overhaul how you eat and start eating healthier.

Maybe you need to start eating healthier because your body is telling you so.

How overwhelming would it feel to toss everything out of the kitchen, and begin a brand new way of eating overnight? How well do you think that these changes would stick?

Instead, you can assess what it is you most need to change in your diet and start with one small change this week. Maybe it’s drinking enough water. Or eating 2 servings of greens each day. Keep building on that.

Maybe your body is telling you that you really need to get regular exercise, but you haven’t exercised in years, or maybe never had this habit in your life. You could start by taking a 15-minute brisk walk each morning and build on that.

Maybe you have a habit of staying up too late and realize that if you could just get more sleep, so much else in your life would feel better.

Start by going to bed 15 minutes earlier each week. Gradually build this habit in over time so that it sticks.

Maybe you have been feeling the weight of chronic stress and want to develop a meditation routine.
Start with 5 minutes each morning. We can all find 5 minutes.

Start somewhere. Start small. Start now.

It’s so common to spend so much time thinking about what we want to change without taking any action.

It’s so common to feel like we have too much going on to take on something new.

You don’t need to wait until you get through this busy period of life, or whatever the excuse sounds like in your head.

When you create changes in your routines & habits slowly, they are so much more likely to be sustainable.

You are less likely to feel overwhelmed about them.

You give yourself the opportunity to feel successful.

You build self-trust.

You can move onto the next small change.

These small changes add up to create a big impact for you.

AND the journey of change is just SO much more enjoyable!

Start with a change that you know would make the biggest difference for you.

Create some accountability for yourself. Tell a loved one what you are doing & ask them to check in with you on how you are doing.

Some people really benefit from setting up a reward system for themselves.

You do not need to feel stuck in your old ways when you are craving new ways of being.

You are not stuck.

You also do not need to feel more overwhelmed about creating changes in your life.

It can be even more overwhelming to remain where you are right now, and not create what you really want in your life.

Chances are that as you read this, there was something specific that came to mind for you.

What is it? That’s your starting point.

I want to encourage you to make that one small change this week.

Begin. Build on it. You've got this.

With Love,

Shelly
