Hi, I'm Shelly

As a well-being coach and mentor, I help those who want to pursue personal growth and fulfillment so they can feel gloriously healthy and empowered. 

But my journey hasn't always been easy.

Like most Americans, I didn’t grow up knowing how to eat healthy. I grew up in a small town and ate how everyone else did there. I lived on a lot of processed food, fast food was a regular thing, and I was convinced that healthy food didn’t taste good. Many of my life’s memories involve insecurities around my body’s shape and size, stealing joy and confidence from my every day experiences & relationships.

I began an intimate journey with food about 25 years ago, after moving out of my hometown and being exposed to different ways of eating. The first time I walked into a health food store, I felt utterly confused...In a store full of food. I had no idea what was actually healthy, how to cook healthy meals, and certainly not in a way that I enjoyed. 

You just don't know what you don't know. 

Fascinated, I was inspired to begin a journey of exploration and learning about healthy eating.

I began to educate myself on food and learned so much about the dysfunction of our food systems and why so much food we eat is unhealthy. I uncovered entirely new ways of eating that were not only healthy but delicious in ways that I had never experienced before. 

Slowly but surely, I learned to approach food in a different way.

 

 

Learning about nutrition and eating healthy was just one piece of the puzzle. Through my journey, I gained clarity on how much my relationship with food and with my body needed some work too.  After exploring periods of time being vegan, eating mostly raw foods, juice fasts, cleanses, etc, I began to lessen my grip on following specific protocols and thinking that whatever recent book or diet I read about was THE way. 

I started leaning into listening to my body.
I began paying attention to how the food I ate made me feel, both physically and emotionally.
I got really present with my food and how I related to it.
I began building self-love practices and learning to love my body & feel more confident in my skin. 
I began to allow those things to guide how I ate. 

The Result: Everything changed in the most incredible ways. 

At 46, I feel better in my body than I have all of my life both physically and emotionally.

I eased into a relationship with food that supports my body, my physical & mental health, my energy level, and my spirit in delicious, manageable ways that I truly love.

The best part is that none of it feels like work at all. Food, cooking, eating, and being in my body truly feel like pleasure and love for me.
